MEI is calling for abstracts for its Flotation ’19 conference which will be held in Cape Town from 11-14 November. Short abstracts should be emailed to
International Mineral Processing Council Chair Prof. Cyril O’Connor describes Flotation ‘19 as a “must attend” event for flotation researchers and practitioners, saying that the conference provides an excellent forum for the exchange of views among experts doing fundamental research and specialists from industry who are able to share their successes and challenges with the audience.
Flotation ’19 will feature two symposia:
- Flotation Fundamentals
- Flotation Applications and Practice.
Prof John Ralston, the first Director of Australia’s Ian Wark Research Institute, will present the keynote lecture in the fundamentals symposium. The lecture will trace the scientific legacy of Dr Joseph Kitchener (one of the 20th Century’s foremost flotation and colloid scientists) and show how it underpins a significant amount of modern research in mineral flotation and colloid science.
Dr Jan Nesset of NesseTech Consulting Services Inc, in Canada, will deliver the keynote lecture in the applications symposium. This lecture will explore the contribution of Canadian scientists and practitioners to flotation in the mining industry.
