The Coalition for Eco Efficient Comminution (CEEC) finally had a chance to celebrate Dr Zeljka Pokrajcic in person for her stellar work with the organization.
While in Melbourne for the IMPC Asia-Pacific conference in August, Dr Pokrajcic joined CEEC Executive President Janine Herzig, CEEC Director Greg Lane, Gekko Systems’ Sandy Gray, Ausenco’s Grant Ballantyne and Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture’s Justin Resta at a restaurant to acknowledge her years of service. While at the dinner, she was presented with a plaque thanking her for her outstanding contribution to industry, as well as a framed picture.
CEEC Executive President Janine Herzig said: “We had an informal small gathering to celebrate Zeljka’s years as a founding Board member of CEEC. She retired last year but we hadn’t had the opportunity to have a live get-together before now.”
Dr Pokrajcic was one of the Founding Directors of CEEC in 2011 and served as Chair of the CEEC Medal Evaluation Panel for 10 years. She has now retired from CEEC, and the new head of the Medal Committee will be announced shortly.
“I would like to thank CEEC for the acknowledgement and the last 11 years. It has been a fabulous ride,” said Dr Pokrajcic.
“CEEC was founded by Elizabeth Lewis-Gray as a repository for technical papers for sharing of knowledge and know-how. Now 11 years later, through continued industry support, it has become a true movement and shining example of how a not-for-profit can serve the industry through collaboration, celebration and communication. I am honoured to have been a part of it.”
