The Coalition for Eco Efficient Comminution (CEEC) has extended the submission deadline for the 2022 CEEC Medal to Tuesday 31st January 2023.
The CEEC Medal celebrates and recognises the contribution that applied research and validation makes towards improving energy efficiency, water management and emissions reductions globally. Each year, CEEC awards Medals in two categories (Operations and Technical Research) to the author or authors of the most exceptional recently published paper, article or case study that presents innovative approaches to eco-efficient practices in mineral processing, extraction of resources and tailings management.
CEEC also welcomes nominations that show ground-breaking improvements and innovation advances in the fields of energy efficiency, water utilisation, waste reprocessing and GHG emission reductions, as well as the financial and social benefits resulting from these improvements.
“We have already received some excellent nominations for the Medal, but it makes sense to extend the submission deadline given the disruptions to technical events and peer-reviewed papers during the COVID restrictions. This will allow time for outstanding work published in late 2022 and early 2023 to be considered,” said CEEC Executive President Janine Herzig.
“If you are an author of a recently published paper, article or case study that demonstrates innovation in comminution and/or mineral processing related to the eco-efficient extraction of resources, we encourage you to submit a nomination.
“CEEC is proud to support improvements and innovation in the resources sector, including developments in comminution, mineral processing, energy, water and tailings management.”
CEEC invites authors to submit their nominations for the CEEC Medal via this form on the CEEC website before applications close on 31st January 2023. We require information about the author/s and the submitted work, as well as a copy of the published paper, article or case study along with an abstract of the published work (maximum one page).
Any submissions must be of a standard suitable for technical review and have been written and/or presented in the 18 months prior to the submission deadline.
All nominations are assessed by the CEEC Technical and Research Committee based on their impact, applicability, and quality. There is further information about the criteria and application information on the CEEC website’s Medal page.
CEEC Medal winners will be acknowledged and celebrated at an appropriate global resources sector event in 2023, and both the award announcement and Medal presentation will be publicised globally. Recipients of the CEEC Medal can help to lead important changes in the resources and mineral processing sectors. The winners and shortlisted nominees are globally recognised as innovators in the field, which in turn boosts opportunities for future partnerships and collaboration around this important topic.
