The Coalition for Eco Efficient Comminution (CEEC) welcomes submissions for the prestigious 2022 CEEC Medal before nominations close on Monday 21st November 2022.
The CEEC Medal is awarded each year to the author or authors of the most outstanding recently published paper, article or case study that demonstrates ground-breaking examples of innovation in comminution and mineral processing that help accelerate more eco-efficient extraction of resources.
The Medals can be awarded to authors in two categories: Operations and Technical Research. CEEC welcomes applications that demonstrate improvements and innovation advances in the fields of energy efficiency, water utilisation, waste reprocessing and GHG emission reductions, as well as the financial and social benefits resulting from these improvements.
“CEEC is proud to support individuals and teams undertaking research into improvements and innovations in the resources sector,” said CEEC Executive President Janine Herzig.
“The CEEC Medal celebrates and recognises the contribution that applied research and validation makes towards improving energy efficiency, water and tailings management and lowering emissions globally. It is only through true collaboration and the provision of open source tools and information that the resources sector can solve the challenges associated with the extraction of the materials needed for a sustainable future”.
We invite you to submit your nominations for the CEEC Medal via this form on the CEEC website. The application form requests information about the author/s and the submitted work, and you should also attach a copy of the published paper, article or case study along with an abstract of the published work (maximum one page).
Submissions must be of a standard suitable for technical review and have been written and/or presented within the past 18 months.
The CEEC Technical and Research Committee assesses the nominations based on their impact, applicability, and quality. The review process has two steps: firstly, meritorious submissions are distributed for review by members of CEEC’s Technical and Research Committee; secondly, the Committee presents the final recommendation in both categories to the CEEC Board of Directors for approval. For further criteria and application information, visit the Medal page on the CEEC website.
CEEC Medal winners will be presented with their awards at an appropriate resources sector event (which may be virtual/online) and both the award announcement and Medal presentation will be publicised globally.
Recipients of the CEEC Medal benefit from their participation in the initiative, and can help to lead important changes in the resources and mineral processing sectors. The winners and shortlisted nominees are globally recognised as innovators in the field, which in turn boosts opportunities for future partnerships and collaboration around this important topic.
