CEEC Technical Review Committee comments:
Another great paper reminding us that we already have the tools, data and knowledge to start implementing some energy saving strategies not only in grinding, but the all the way through to smelting. A holistic approach is taken and the question asked: Where is the cheapest lowest energy place to remove this impurity? In the mine, or the smelter? Or somewhere in between? The ideal outcome can be achieved by understanding the ore body through the use of current methods and practices, such as quantitative mineralogy.
A good presentation offering some thought provoking concepts and providing some ideas for brown field optimisation.
